Information about roadworks in the Wellington and Kāpiti regions
Well-maintained roads are an important part of keeping people safe. While we aim to do this work with as little disruption as possible, we know that roadworks can be inconvenient. Thank you for your patience and understanding while we do this important work.
Please drive carefully through work sites and stick to the temporary speed limits. If you’re driving around the Wellington region, roadworks on the state highway network may affect your travel plans.
Below is a quick outline of the major works planned for Sunday 169 July - Saturday 22Saturday 15 July 2017 as follows. We’ll keep you posted on future works and have regular updates on local radio stations.
NOTE: Roadworks are dependent on weather and other factors. If bad weather should strike, work will be postponed to the next suitable night.

NGAURANGA GORGE SLIP
SEVERE WEATHER WARNING
Saturday 7.30am: All southbound lanes closed for half an hour while mesh for slip face is helicoptered in. Thereafter, expect occasion closures for slip works. All lanes to be open for peak morning commuter traffic on Monday morning.
Please drive with extra caution on the region's roads during the heavy rain and strong winds. Snow is falling at times on the Rimutaka Hill Road.
Currently all highways in the Greater Wellington region are open.
