Stormwater management
The stormwater treatment standard for state highway infrastructure was first published in May 2010. The standard will assist roading practitioners with the selection and design of roading stormwater management practices. This is accompanied by the value for money report on the standard and the standard review reports of six regional planner nominated projects and Wellington City Council's Westchester Drive project.
The Auckland Motorway Alliance has undertaken strategic initiative research on a number of stormwater management assets. The reports from this research are now available to be downloaded below.
The Transport Agency has undertaken a study to test whether the macroinvertebrate community index could be used to assess the long-term impacts of stormwater run-off from the state highway network on water quality in New Zealand streams. An information sheet on the project provides a brief summary and is posted below with the final report.
The NZ Transport Agency is also a member of the Road Controlling Authorities Forum Stormwater Working Group.
