Setting safe speeds – proposed changes on Kāpiti roads
The NZ Transport Agency and the Mackays to Peka Peka Alliance are working with the Kāpiti Coast District Council to ensure the district’s roading network operates as safely and efficiently as possible once the Mackays to Peka Peka Expressway opens to traffic. The community has beenis being asked to provide feedback on proposed speed limits for local roads that have changed or been built as part of the Expressway’s construction.
The roads being looked at are :
- Emerald Glen and Waterfall Roads
- Poplar Avenue
- Otaihanga and Ratanui Roads
- Nga Manu Reserve Road
- Maurice Smith Way
- Peka Peka, Te Kowhai and Hadfield Link Roads

What happens to your feedback
The responses are beingwill be used to help prepare a technical report and recommendations for the Council and the Transport Agency. This report will also take into account technical assessments of suitable speed limits. It will be submitted for a decision in lateearly March 2017.next year.
